Blue and white porcelain brushwasher from the Xuande reign in the Ming Dynasty (1425-1435 A.D.). The scalloped dish is decorated with blue motifs and fruit tree.
The washer comes in its original box with the marks: “明宣德 Ming Xuande + [Unknown] + 岩崎弥之助舊藏 From the collection of Yanosuke Iwasaki”.

ex-Yanosuke Iwasake collection. Yanosuke Iwasake served as the 4th Governor of the Bank of Japan and was the former president of Mitsubishi. He was an avid collector of fine Chinese porcelains.
